I Never Promised You A Rose Garden...

The area I live in is know as "The Rose Garden" because we have a park full of roses right in the center of our neighborhood.

I'd like to take you on a little tour of some of the homes in my neighborhood
and a quick peek at the park.

This park is a popular place for high school graduations and weddings.

Isn't this a pretty white house.
I think Cindy at "My Romantic Home" would love this one.

Unfortunately, those big trees are hiding this beauty but that's part of its charm.

You can't tell from this photo but my favorite part of this house is the amazing artist's studio over the garage with windows on three sides.  Oh how I would love that.  This house is on the market right now but I haven't even dared to look at the price.  I know it is way out of my range.  There is a tennis court out back too and with the property prices around here, that is a real rarity.

I love the formal garden here.
This is also my favorite color combination on a home.

You can't really see a lot here but this is a gorgeous home on a corner lot.

This little charmer has recently had a face lift.  ; )  Shhh, it's our secret.

The ubiquitous McMansion!  It's a lovely home, beautiful inside and out
but not quite as charming as the original homes in the area.

I love this home.  It commands a lot attention on this corner lot.
The owners of this home also have a couple of amazing vintage cars.
When the car is parked out front, it transports me to another era.

This is my daughter's favorite.  She wants a home with a roof like this some day.

This house always makes me smile when I drive by it!
I love the combination of the slate blue with the raspberry red shutters and door.
I love their landscaping too.

I hope you've enjoyed this glance at my little piece of the world.

I liked all of them for different reasons. It's hard to pick a favorite since they were so varied. Thanks for the fabulous tour of your neighborhood. It's a joy to drive thru it.

Love this post! My fave of the bigger homes would be house with sunroom and of course the corner lot mansion. As for the smaller homes my faves are the recent facelift and the one Katie loves. They are all fantastic though! Now, if I had to pick right now which one I would most desire to move into tomorrow it would be the one in your very first painting. Now that is a dream home to die for!

Hugs,
Penny

PS Justine is right, you should have put your home in this blog. We all love it to so much. I'll never forget the day you posted it on RMS. Hey, I wonder how RMS is doing. I wonder if they miss all our traffic? Nah... LOL

I KNEW you were rich! lol.

You have a beautiful neighborhood! You should have included your house in the pics too.

I think that park is gorgeous. We need some inside shots!

I love houses number 3, 8 and 9 the best. And the last one is adorable. What a nice mix of homes. I hate the cookie cutter homes in the developments, they have no personality.

I'm so jealous you have sidewalks!!!

I've always dreamed off taking a walk with my girls in their stroller in a nice neighborhood but alas, we have no sidewalks! And our street is a hill so it would be hard to control the stroller going down and hard to push it up. LOL!

WOW what a gorgeous neighborhood! So many pretty and well kept houses. I love living in a place where everyone takes pride in their homes no matter how big or small. It just feels good to live somewhere like that. The park looks amazing! Thanks for the tour...I can see a bunch of them that I'd be happy to move into lol

Oh Bridget, you are surrounded by beauty, the park is so pretty, all of the homes are incredible in different ways including your home, I like the last three and the artist home the more windows the merrier I think, and almost year round sunshine, perfect. hugs, Kathy.

Did you go to Villa San Michele, I just looked it up and it's amazing, your painting is perfect.

Yes, I remember now, I just looked at your post for your 25th anniv, it is beautiful, we went to Lucca one time and the villa's are very similar.

What say we start our Museum/Gallery visits in Italy we could always pop over to France to check out the louvre and I am sure Hayley and Katie could find some decent clothes stores there haha.
hugs, Kathy.

I really enjoyed this post as I love, love, love looking at older homes. Such a beautiful neighborhood. Sure wish I was Your Neighbor! I'm with your daugter, and like the house with the unusual roof and ivy. Also, that little one with the face lift is cute, too. Heck, I'd live an any of these!
