Flash forward twenty more years than I can count to present time.
Here is a collage of my North Pole Village pieces on display on my mantle.
Sorry I don't have a wide shot to show you right now.
The Christmas tree is decorated in red and white (mostly snowmen and Santas.)
Here is a close-up of one of my silver balls that I have been collecting for over two decades.
They are each engraved with "Merry Christmas" and the date.
Here is one of the none snowmen/santa ornaments that made it on to the tree this year. This is obviously the tin man from Wizard of Oz. My daughter loved this movie when she was little so her father bought her this ornament many years ago and he is on the tree every year.
As you can see, I also add candy canes and a few crystal icicles.
Christmas would not be the same for me without pretty presents under the tree. My hubby likes to wait until the last minute to put the presents out but I get my wrapping done early so that I can enjoy the packages as part of the decor.
This is a Swedish Dala horse that I only put out at Christmas because I just couldn't seem to make him work into my decor. I don't know the whole story behind the horse but he is a ubiquitous image throughout Sweden so I felt that I should bring one home as a memory from my trip.
This ceramic santa bank is almost as old as I am. He was a freebie from a bank (they gave out better things in the old days!) He's one of the very few things that I have from childhood.

How elegant and beautiful--and yes, I was on the planet at that time. LOL Love your idea of the silver balls.
You have GOT to try some double cream. I know I saw it in a catalog--Williams Sonoma? Amazon.com gourmet section? Somewhere!
If your cherry mice don't have tails, I was thinking you could use raspberry licorice!
Glad the cake turned out. Your idea with the whiskey would elevate it into an ambrosial level.
I actually think I drank that extra juice. LOL With vodka. It was good!

Hi Bridget!
Loved all your stockings!! And your tree is just lovely!
I am off to work soon, but tomorrow I will do some decorations too.. and will try to show you all as soon as I can..
Monica
We added the extra pineapple juice from Gollum's recipe to the cake also. There wasn't one slice left after serving it. Yummmmmy.
Your decorations are so adorable, especially the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz.
Have a very Merry Christmas.
Love the whimsical village! The buildings and those engraved silver-ball ornaments are not what you normally see and it's about all the pretty wrapped gifts. Re the latter I'll choose the small one, as "good things often come in small packages" :)
Well girl, I think it is safe to say; YOU are pretty well ready for Christmas! Your tree is awesome by the way (I am feeling guilty now as I just opted for a table-top one this year).
Thanks for sharing all these pretties!!!!
Oh B!
Love your Christmas tree, and how cute you were and are! Haven't aged a day, I say! Merry Christmas!

Aw, you were such a cute kid! And hey, you used Picasa's collage! Good work, Gigi!
Your tree looks so beautiful, and I'm still in awe of your wrapping capabilities. I think next year I'll fly your creative ass down here to wrap all my gifts. I'll pay you in cupcakes and petit fours. Will that work for you?
Oh, and that horse is really really pretty. The way it's painted is so unusual.

I like the santa and snowman ones. Wow that Santa Bank is pretty cool for a giveaway. It's like the Happy Meals toys. Mine were plastic and you had to put them together. My daughters get real toys in theirs. Oh wait, it's the opposite. LOL!!
